Kateřina Slunéčková - Czech artist | SOPRG

The vernissage will take a place on 03/23/2022 in our virtual reality SOPRG gallery.

Kateřina Slunečková (b.1983) is a painter and visual artist who works mainly with figurative painting, video projections and animation.

She comes from Prague where she also studied at the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts and in 2006 she graduated from the JMC Academy in Australia with a degree in 3D and 2D animation.

She has also been working with video art for a long time: she collaborates with theatres, she is also the author of projections for David Koller’s Czechoslovakia tour and the director of the LUCIE 30 years concert, for the BAZÉN project, where she exhibited paintings but also created an atypical  projection on the ceiling of the Faculty simulating the water surface.

She is currently preparing her third exhibition at Beseder Gallery. This time she has teamed up with visual artist Tomáš Vavříček and together they have created a context reflecting the current situation. The exhibition, titled DNO., refers to the current crisis, which can also be perceived as an opportunity. Hence the subtitle – when you are at the bottom, collect pearls.
